Description
A tiny cream square sits dead centre, and from it, fine pale lines fan out to the edge like the spokes of a wheel. The Clark is a round 38cm placemat made from rattan and paper, in a deep navy finished with a twisted cream rim.
Set a few along the outdoor table for a birthday lunch and suddenly the white plates have something bold to sit on. The navy does the heavy lifting, while the cream edge and little flecks through the pattern keep it bright rather than serious. Mix it with plain linen napkins and the table looks properly set without any fuss.
