Toby Cylinder Lantern Black Large

A bare corner of the entry hall is exactly where the Toby Cylinder Lantern Large earns its place. It's a tall rattan lantern in a matte black finish, with a glass hurricane tucked inside and a looped handle arching over the top. Set on the floor by the front door, it gives the first spot your guests see a bit of shape and shadow.

Up close, it's all slim vertical strands, drawn in at the shoulder and held together by woven bands that circle the body, so you can see straight through to the glass. At 50 x 30cm dia, it's the taller of the two in our photo. Pop a pillar candle in the hurricane when people are due over, and let the black outline do the rest.
